ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,312,381, issued on May 27, was assigned to Amgen Inc. (Thousand Oaks, Calif.).

"Capture purification processes for proteins expressed in a non-mammalian system" was invented by Joseph Edward Shultz (Oberwil, Switzerland) and Roger Hart (Needham, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods of purifying proteins expressed in non-mammalian expression systems in a non-native soluble form directly from cell lysate are disclosed. Methods of purifying proteins expressed in non-mammalian expression systems in a non-native limited solubility form directly from a refold solution are also disclosed.
