ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,418,192, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Alsym Energy Inc. (Woburn, Mass.).
"Rechargeable aluminum ion battery" was invented by Rahul Mukherjee (Winchester, Mass.) and Nikhil A. Koratkar (Clifton Park, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A rechargeable battery using a solution of an aluminum salt as an electrolyte is disclosed, as well as methods of making the battery and methods of using the battery."
The patent was filed on April 27, 2022, under Application No. 17/730,651.
