ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,310,629, issued on May 27, was assigned to Alphatec Spine Inc. (Carlsbad, Calif.).
"Methods and devices for augmenting the spine" was invented by Frank J. Schwab (New York).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides a device to restrict interspinous motion across multiple segments of a spinal column in a patient, comprising at least a first ligamentous line attached to a spinous process, a soft tissue in proximity to posterior aspects of a spinal vertebrae, or a pre-existing spinal fixation device or system."
