ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,419,738, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Alcon Inc. (Fribourg, Switzerland).
"Fluid for accommodating intraocular lenses" was invented by David J. Anvar (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Andrew Goodwin (San Leandro, Calif.) and David Chazan (Palo Alto, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Fluids incorporated into intraocular lenses and their methods of use. In some embodiments the fluids are silicone oils, and in some embodiments they are used in accommodating intraocular lenses."
The patent was filed on July 7, 2023, under Application No. 18/348,696.
