ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,728, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to AISAPACK HOLDING S.A. (Vouvry, Switzerland).
"Reduced-friction drive device" was invented by Gael Bussien (Le Bouveret, Switzerland).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Device for forming a tube, for example a packaging tube, from a sheet (3), said device comprising at least one welding rod (2), means for welding and pressurizing the welded zone (7-9) and means (4-6) for driving the sheet (3) along the rod (2). The device also comprises means (10-12, 14) that reduce the friction between the welding rod (2) and the sheet (3)."
