ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,894, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Airway Therapeutics Inc. (Marietta, Ga.).

"Systems and methods for characterizing surfactant protein D (SP-D) oligomers" was invented by Jan Susan Rosenbaum (Cincinnati), Mark Cornell Manning (Johnstown, Colo.) and Ryan R. Manning (Charlotte, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Some embodiments of the methods and compositions provided herein include identifying and/or quantifying oligomeric species of surfactant protein-D (SP-D). Some embodiments include performing an asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation with multi-angle laser light scattering (AF4-MALLS) analysis on the SP-D."
