ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,358,614, issued on July 15, was assigned to AIRBUS OPERATIONS Ltd. (Bristol, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In a wheeled landing gear of an aircraft, an axle sleeve 10 that includes a low friction wear surface 19 on a portion of an internal surface of the axle sleeve. The low friction wear surface 19 includes a ring 20 of composite material including fibres in a polymer matrix."
The patent was filed on March 31, 2022, under Application No. 17/709,589.
