US Patent Issued to AGROFRESH on June 17 for "Large-scale methods of uniformly coating packaging surfaces with a volatile antimicrobial to preserve food freshness" (Pennsylvania, California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,329,158, issued on June 17, was assigned to AGROFRESH INC. (Philadelphia).

"Large-scale methods of uniformly coating packaging surfaces with a volatile antimicrobial to preserve food freshness" was invented by Daniel MacLean (Woodland, Calif.), Richard M. Jacobson (Chalfont, Pa.) and Timothy Malefyt (Stroudsburg, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present application relates to large-scale methods of uniformly coating packaging surfaces with a benzoxaborole compound."

The patent was filed on Sept. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/373,376.
