ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,434,456, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to AGC Inc. (Tokyo).

"Laminated member" was invented by Yu Hanawa (Tokyo), Shuhei Ogawa (Tokyo), Seiji Inaba (Tokyo) and Hiroyuki Yamamoto (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a laminated member including: a glass member having a linear transmittance at a wavelength of 850 nm of 80% or more; a bonding layer including a resin and lying on the glass member; and a Si-SiC member lying on the bonding member, in which the Si-SiC member has an average linear expansion coefficient Alpha at from 20deg C. to 200deg C. of from 2.85 ppm/deg C. to 4.00 ppm/deg C."
