ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,534,181, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to AeroVironment Inc. (Arlington, Va.).

"Rib mounting flanges for an unmanned aerial vehicle" was invented by Emil Ghapgharan (Simi Valley, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Systems, devices, and methods including one or more rib mounting flanges, where each rib mounting flange comprises: a spar opening configured to receive a main spar of a wing panel; one or more holes for receiving cross-bracing cables; and one or more holes for receiving cross-bracing cables; and one or more holes for connecting the rib mounting flange to an adjacent rib mounting flange."
