US Patent Issued to Advanced Micro Devices on July 8 for "Locality-based data processing" (Washington Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,353,338, issued on July 8, was assigned to Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Locality-based data processing" was invented by Gabriel H. Loh (Bellevue, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A data processing node includes a processor element and a data fabric circuit. The data fabric circuit is coupled to the processor element and to a local memory element and includes a crossbar switch. The data fabric circuit is operable to bypass the crossbar switch for memory access requests between the processor element and the local memory element."
