ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,381, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Acushnet Co. (Fairhaven, Mass.).

"Golf balls with increased shear durability" was invented by Edward Costa (East Providence, R.I.) and Nelson Araujo (South Dartmouth, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions for use in golf balls and golf balls including such compositions that have increased shear durability. Such compositions include a blend of at least two thermoplastic elastomers."

The patent was filed on June 22, 2022, under Application No. 17/846,135.
