ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,478,843, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to ACUSHNET COMPANY (Fairhaven, Mass.).
"Golf club having an adjustable weight assembly" was invented by Tyrone Northcutt (San Marcos, Calif.) and Thomas Orrin Bennett (Carlsbad, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A golf club head incudes a body, a pocket in the body and defining a recessed channel, and a weight assembly. The body includes a striking face and a sole. The weight assembly includes a weight at least partially disposed within the recessed channel and configured to move therein and a fastener configured to releasably secure the weight within the recessed channel."
