ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,508,487, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Acushnet Co. (Fairhaven, Mass.).

"Golf ball having at least one radar detectable mark" was invented by Michael R. Madson (Easton, Mass.), Matthew F. Hogge (Plymouth, Mass.), Nicholas M. Nardacci (Barrington, R.I.) and Richard Daprato (Acushnet, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Golf balls including one or more layers having at least one radar detectable mark disposed on the surface thereof are provided."

The patent was filed on Nov. 1, 2021, under Application No. 17/515,971.
