ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,228,381, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Action Target Inc. (Provo, Utah).
"Single-hand operable clamping mechanism" was invented by James Harmon (Nephi, Utah) and Robert Decosta (Spanish Fork, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A clamping system and method for allowing one-handed operation of a target clamp is described. The clamp may also be designed to be concealed and/or behind a structure such that portions of the clamp are not exposed to projectiles, thus protecting the clamp from sustaining damage."
The patent was filed on Oct. 27, 2020, under Application No. 17/081,851.
