ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,069, issued on April 22, was assigned to Abbott Laboratories (Abbott Park, Ill.).
"Methods of using human milk oligosaccharides for improving airway respiratory health" was invented by Rachael Buck (Gahanna, Ohio), Geralyn O. Duska-Mcewen (Columbus, Ohio) and Steven R. Davis (Columbus, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are nutritional compositions including human milk oligosaccharides that can be administered to preterm infants, term infants, toddlers, and children for improving airway defense mechanisms."
The patent was filed on Dec. 27, 2021, under Application No. 17/562,327.
