ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,396,666, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to Abbott Diabetes Care Inc. (Alameda, Calif.).

"Analyte sensing devices and methods" was invented by Benjamin Jay Feldman (Berkeley, Calif.), Hyun Cho (Berkeley, Calif.) and John Charles Mazza (Long Beach, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are sensors and sensor applicator sets to insert at least a portion of an analyte sensor into a a skin surface of a subject, as well as methods of using the same."

The patent was filed on March 11, 2020, under Application No. 16/815,438.
