ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,345, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to Aarhus Universitet (Aarhus C, Denmark).

"Rufinamide for use in the treatment of myotonia" was invented by Thomas Holm Pedersen (Risskov, Denmark) and Martin Brandhoj Skov (Aarhus C, Denmark).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to Rufinamide (or active derivatives thereof) for use in the treatment of myotonia, such as myotonia congenita, paramyotonia congenita and myotonic dystrophy.
