ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,722, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to 3M Innovative Properties Co. (St. Paul, Minn.).

"Compositions with hyperbranched polyester polyol polymer processing additives" was invented by Claude Lavallee (Roseville, Minn.) and Chetan P. Jariwala (Woodbury, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Hyperbranched polyester polyols having 40 to 60% linear carbons, based on the total number of linear, dendritic, and terminal carbons are used as polymer processing additives. Compositions containing a thermoplastic polymer and such polymer processing additives, as well as methods of extruding thermoplastic polymers containing such polymer processin...
