ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,509,569, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to 3M Innovative Properties Co. (St. Paul, Minn.).

"Curable fluoropolymer compositions comprising metal fluoride particles and articles therefrom" was invented by Yuta Suzuki (Kanagawa, Japan) and Tatsuo Fukushi (Woodbury, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described herein is a curable fluoropolymer composition comprising: an amorphous fluoropolymer; and particles of a metal fluoride, wherein the particles are not substantially surface treated and wherein the metal of the metal fluoride comprises at least one of an alkaline earth metal, a Group III transition metals, and a Lanthanide metals.
