ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,489,130, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to 3M Innovative Properties Co. (St. Paul, Minn.).
"Fluoropolymer comprising pendent groups with ionic bis(sulfonyl)imide moiety and perfluoroether terminal group" was invented by Matthew J. Lindell (Woodbury, Minn.), Michael A. Yandrasits (Hastings, Minn.) and Andrew T. Haug (Woodbury, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fluoropolymer is described comprising pendent groups having the formula: -(CF2)a-(OCbF2b)c-(OCeF2e)-SO2-[NX2-SO2(CF2)f-SO2]d-NX1-SO2-Rf wherein Rf is a perfluoroether and X1 and X2 are independently cationic counterions.
