ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,377,522, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to 3M Innovative Properties Co. (St. Paul, Minn.).

"Elongate abrasive article with orientationally aligned formed abrasive particles" was invented by Dean S. Holmes (Ellsworth, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Abrasive articles are disclosed comprising at least one primary elongate abrasive element extending along an element axis. The primary elongate abrasive element comprises a plurality of formed abrasive particles, wherein at least 50% of the formed abrasive particles are orientationally aligned along the element axis."
