ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,406,226, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to 365 Retail Markets LLC (Troy, Mich.).

"Distance-based product event detection" was invented by Himanshu Vajaria (Milpitas, Calif.) and Krishna Vedula (Tampa, Fla.).
