ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,252,797, issued on March 18, was assigned to 2706649 Ontario Ltd (Aurora, Canada).
"Hydrogen generating element" was invented by Mark Fertman (Toronto) and Gerard Campeau (Newmarket, Canada).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hydrogen generating element of an electrochemical apparatus may include a compacted homogenous body of an alloy-like material which contains at least 60 wt.-%, preferably more than 75 wt.-%, of Mg or a Mg alloy, 5 to 20 wt.-% Fe2O3, and 5 to 20 wt.-% of an electrolyte precursor material."
The patent was filed on Aug. 23, 2021, under Application No. 17/409,626.
