ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,325,023, issued on June 10, was assigned to 10x Genomics Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.).
"Methods for sorting particles" was invented by Rajiv Bharadwaj (Pleasanton, Calif.), Michael Schnall-Levin (San Francisco), Anthony Makarewicz (Livermore, Calif.) and Steven Short (Pleasanton, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and systems for sorting particles are provided. Methods and systems for sorting cell beads are provided. In some cases, cell beads may be sorted from particles unoccupied with cell derivatives. In some cases, singularly occupied cell beads may be sorted from unoccupied particles and multiply occupied cell beads."
