ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,263,482, issued on April 1, was assigned to 10x Genomics Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.).

"Methods and devices for magnetic separation in a flow path" was invented by Alireza Salmanzadeh (San Ramon, Calif.) and Dagmar Walter (San Francisco).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Devices, systems, and their methods of use, for sorting or separating magnetic particles are provided. A magnetic source is disposed adjacent a flow path and exerts a magnetic field on magnetic particles in order to separate particles."

The patent was filed on June 3, 2021, under Application No. 17/338,215.
