ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,143, issued on Sept. 9.

"Therapeutic inhibitors of the reverse mode of ATP synthase" was invented by Michael David Forrest (Poole, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compounds of the following formula, and pharmaceutically-acceptable salts, solvates, hydrates and prodrugs thereof, formula (A) are useful to preferentially inhibit the ATP-hydrolysing mode of ATP synthase, and are thereby useful for treating various diseases and orders including cancer, particularly cancers that utilise the Warburg effect."

The patent was filed on Jan. 17, 2018, under Application No. 16/478,497.
