"Sandal with detachable foot cover" was invented by Paul Fina (Yorkville, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sandal or slide with a base which includes a top surface upon which a human foot rests, and first and second opposed side surfaces, the first and second opposed side surfaces each having at least one pin. The sandal also has a foot cover, which is selectively detachable from the base, that includes a planar surface with a first terminal edge and a second terminal edge, and at least one receptacle defined proximate the first and second terminal edges.
