ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,426,596, issued on Sept. 30.

"Wood preservatives" was invented by Selvanathan Arumugam (Blue Bell, Pa.), David A. Laganella (Swedesboro, N.J.) and Randall W. Stephens (Collegeville, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for preserving wood by contacting wood with a composition comprising a polyurethane polymer, non-aqueous solvents, and a wood preservative."

The patent was filed on Sept. 24, 2019, under Application No. 17/281,005.
