According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A scarf includes draw-strings confined in channel(s) between end sections, extending across a neck portion connecting the end sections, and aligned along a central longitudinal axis between an upper and lower edge of the scarf in an open position.
