"Integrated heat storage system into heat recovery" was invented by Tony Randolph Alley (El Dorado Hills, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system including multiple Channel Heat Exchangers may be used in a minimum of two separate heat exchangers that may be alternated between a hot storage mode and a cold storage mode. The combination of the hot storage mode and cold storage mode creates a synergy, specifically providing greatly increased heat recovery, greatly increased heating and cold storage and greatly increased energy efficiency by combining the two modes with ancillary equipment."
