According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hydropower plant with offshore water supply includes at least one water intake structure, underground penstock, turbine, and tailrace. The water intake structure has a base built on a continental shelf of a water body and a water intake at an elevation above the base. The penstock has an inlet connected to the base and an outlet.
