"Protein hydrolysate composition that increases coalbed methane production" was invented by Bomi Patel-Framroze (Portola Valley, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention provides a composition and a method for increasing biogenic methane gas production from subterranean coal deposits. The composition and method provides a nutrient protein hydrolysate that contains less than 0.5 percent of the amino acid L-tyrosine, which is most effective in significantly increasing methane gas released from subterranean coal deposits."
The patent was filed on Dec. 22, 2021, under Application No. 17/559,675.
