"Energy recovery system" was invented by Shin Kim (Hacienda Heights, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The apparatus for capturing energy from a source of linear motion includes a reciprocating gear rail assembly secured to an input shaft that engages an output gear and shaft for driving an electric generator."
The patent was filed on June 7, 2024, under Application No. 18/736,886.
