ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,403,028, issued on Sept. 2.
"Sock orthotic" was invented by Robert Neal Mohr (Palm Springs, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A knit sock orthotic is provided in which a pattern of padding is knit into the sock to create an interface between the foot and the shoe or weight-bearing surface to correct an abnormal biomechanical condition of the foot, or to relieve pressure on focal areas of structural overload of the foot, or both."
The patent was filed on Aug. 4, 2023, under Application No. 18/365,813.
