ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,404,859, issued on Sept. 2.
"High frequency transformer for predicting failure of an electrical submersible pump system" was invented by Leo Stephen Coombs (Bayfield, Colo.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A 1-50 megahertz high frequency current transformer made from a PLA composite that predicts when an electric submersible pump system will fail. high frequency current transformer generates a 4-20 milliamp signal that indicates when the electric submersible pump system will fail."
The patent was filed on May 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/661,703.
