According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A multifunctional fishing rod holder is a device that improves the chances of attracting fish and indicates when a fish has bitten the lure. The device includes a holder base, a flexible arm, a rod-holding assembly, a sail shaft, and an indicator sail. The holder base positions the desired fishing rod next to the ice hole in any terrain.
