"Lung exercise measurement device and method" was invented by Frank Acosta (Boca Raton, Fla.) and William Rose (Boca Raton, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A lung exercise measurement device and method that utilizes one or more lift timers, rest timers and/or set counters to accurately display valuable metrics and goals for tracking and improving respiratory development using a lung trainer breathing technique device, with particular advantages for instructive, competitive, self-learning, and group training environments."

The patent was filed on Dec. 17, 2020, under Application No. 17/124,651.
