ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,416,942, issued on Sept. 16.

"Bi-stable spring with flexible display" was invented by Fletcher R. Rothkopf (Los Altos, Calif.), Derek W. Wright (San Francisco) and Scott A. Myers (Saratoga, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A wearable accessory device is disclosed. The wearable accessory device includes a flexible display coupled to a bi-stable spring. Coupling the display to the bi-stable spring allows the accessory device to be easily worn in a number of convenient locations."

The patent was filed on July 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/778,128.
