According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for fabricating a toy doll with dreadlock hair is provided. The method comprises preparation of spooled dreadlock hair by twisting and matting synthetic filaments into a cylindrical dreadlock strand, sewing or rooting the dreadlock strand into a toy doll scalp, heat treating the dreadlocks, styling the dreadlocks, and then applying a hair treatment to the dreadlocks.
