"Lazy susan" was invented by Gracie Saunders (Saxe, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The lazy susan is configured for use with a plurality of foodstuffs. The lazy susan forms a plurality of containers that present the plurality of foodstuffs for serving. The lazy susan incorporates a primary bowl structure, a plurality of auxiliary bowl, and a slewing bearing. The primary bowl structure attaches to the slewing bearing. The plurality of auxiliary bowls removably attach to the primary bowl structure."
