"Simulated snake hose device" was invented by Adam Loew (Tawas City, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a novel simulated snake hose device. The device is designed to protect gardens without the need for fencing. The device comprises a no-kink hose with a wrench collar and a hex head brass fitting. Further, a simulated snake head is secured onto the hose end and supported by a folding stake to keep the snake head above the grass. The hose is also printed with a snakeskin pattern to simulate differing snake species and patterns."
