"Perennial peanut plant named 'Murphy's Pintoi'" was invented by Travis Murphy (Fort Pierce, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Arachis pintoi plant named 'Murphy's Pintoi', particularly distinguished by small leaves, rapid and compact stoloniferous growth habit, infrequent flowering habit, low growth and dense foliage canopy."

The patent was filed on April 8, 2025, under Application No. 19/173,634.
