According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A tape retaining spring wire adapted for attachment to a front of a tape gun. The tape gun includes a handle attached to a bottom of a tape gun mounting plate. Also mounted to a front of the mounting plate is a tape guide. The tape guide is used to guide adhesive tape from a tape roll. The tape roll is attached to a top of the mounting plate.
