"Shopping cart" was invented by Mathias Streicher (Grinzens, Austria).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A supermarket trolley, the gripping region of the handle of said trolley be arranged such that when the handle is gripped for pushing the trolley, the lower arms assume a position, the direction of movement of the lower arms being aligned to that of the body."
The patent was filed on Sept. 23, 2022, under Application No. 17/951,838.
