"Wavelength locking" was invented by Graeme Pendock (Carlisle, Mass.), Hongbin Zhang (Holmdel, N.J.), Christopher Doerr (Middletown, N.J.) and Tom Williams (Sudbury, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system, method, an apparatus to change a frequency of a laser of a first transceiver based on a difference of a frequency of a laser of a second transceiver."
The patent was filed on Sept. 7, 2022, under Application No. 17/939,857.
