"Systems and methods for editing a video recording in progress" was invented by Nishant Shah (Aurora, Ill.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mobile app based digital media recording system with a back-clip feature for creating and manipulating back-clip segments from already recorded portions of a digital audio and/or video recording in progress. The feature allows a user to remove the back-clip segments on the fly and/or to create a reel, which may be a blooper or highlight reel, of the segments created during the main recording."
