"Remote order-taking system" was invented by Jeffrey Chasney (Sarasota, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A remote service device may provide, to a remote ordering system via a network, access to subsystems of a client computing system, the remote service device being communicatively coupled to the subsystems at the location via corresponding hardware interface channels. A remote service device may communicate, to the client computing system via one or more of the hardware interface channels, a command received from the remote ordering system."
