According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The pipe-tapping system is an aftermarket structure configured for use with an existing piping network. The pipe-tapping system allows for the formation of a fluidic connection between a pipe that needs to be added into the existing piping network and the existing piping network itself.
