ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,464,855, issued on Nov. 4.
"Photodiode heater" was invented by Long Chen (Marlboro, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus and system, including a chip including a photodetector, wherein the photodetector includes a semiconductor photodiode and a heater proximate to the photodiode; wherein the heater is enabled to increase a temperature of the photodiode and a temperature sensing device to determine the temperature of the photodiode."
The patent was filed on Dec. 29, 2017, under Application No. 15/857,810.
